20th April 2022 - Obituary to Reg Macdonald can be found on the News page -

Presidential Message

When I was first asked if I would join this illustrious group of bowlers some 6 years ago, I was extremely grateful for the invitation. Now, after such a short time I will be following in the footsteps of many good men who have been privileged to have been offered this prestigious position. This represents a real honour for me in this our 75th Anniversary year - yes, we are even older than SAGA - and I will do my very best to carry out the duties expected of me.

Myself, and I’m certain everyone else in our Association, give grateful thanks to our Officers and Committee members for all their hard work on behalf of the Association.

Our 2022 tour year will be based at The Norton Park Hotel near Winchester from Sunday 3rd July to Saturday 9th July, details of which are shown on the facing page. I do hope to see many of you coming on the tour, enjoying our 5 games against selected local clubs and maybe we can even equal Keith Riley’s results of wins during last summer’s tour. My sincere thanks to Tony Ellis and Paul Costin for their work in arranging the tour and for organising the 5 competitive games that we shall be playing during that week.

I should also like to thank Keith for his stoic performance over the past TWO years. Well done my friend and thanks for all the advice and help you have given me (but I believe you still only get one Life Membership!).

I’m sure Colin Peters, (along with the Junior Deputy President who is yet to be appointed), will be there to help me as necessary and we are all looking forward to a very successful year.

We still need a cautious approach, gentlemen. Some “think its all over”. But the Fat Lady hasn’t sung yet.

Enjoy your bowling my friends and please stay safe.

David Vann, Falcon BC
